Why didn’t you just buy a vair 480c compressor? My dual compressor setup is bolted under my chassis, costs $300.00 and took 1 hour to install. Why clutter your engine bay up with all that crap?

Why would I pay $300 for a electric compressor that doesn’t put out as much air as my belt driven unit when the belt driven compressor and all the other components cost about $100 total?

@deathblade
1. you would use a seperate compressor because you can remove it when not in use, saving fuel
2. you’ve ruined the resaleability of your vehicle.
By DeathBlade556, April 7, 2009 @ 3:32 am
1. It’s a Jeep any fuel savings would be offset by the time and effort to remove the compressor, and I use it enough that I would even think of removing it.
2. Again it’s a jeep they hold there value very well, and if I ever sold it its a offroad 4×4 the buyer would likey pay a premium because of the extra componets.

YOU want an air compressor in a jeep becuase you want to fill up your tires after you air them down.
This kit is simple.
Its just a good thing to have.
(wont rob horse power when not in use)
By borbor122, April 7, 2009 @ 10:57 am
well here’s my counter agrument.
1,) like an AC unit, this will not rob your horse power when not in use
2.) Your wrong about the resale value. Modification to Vehicles only add to their value
3) DeathBlade is Right

you would probably have to fab some brackets up. you can look at kilby enterprises web site and see what they are using.

Dude, you got to be kidding me. You you got some fundamentals in science going for you, as well as aptitude. Great job. Smart man. Thanks. I needed to see something clever from a utuber. I was about to give up.
Thanks again.

absolutly awsome would like a more deailed video of the air manifold and see that welder in action
By mshillchick, March 23, 2010 @ 5:19 am
What part number is that switch? Where is a good place to get one?
By mountainhead530, April 10, 2010 @ 4:24 pm
Cast Iron has a higher specific heat capacity that aluminum. This means it takes more energy transfer (heat) to raise it’s temperature one degree. Aluminum will heat quicker than the cast iron but will loose the heat quicker as well. Once the cast iron gets hot it takes a lot longer to cool back down. There is a reason aluminum is used for heat sinks. All that being said you have a nice video here. Keep it up. I personally run a York 210 in my Jeep and love it.

@alanaldapierce resale.lol what re you talking about? people would kill to have a air compressor on their jeep.i saw several jeeps go for 1k to 3k over blue book because they had air compressors.
By biggdaddy2001, April 25, 2010 @ 5:02 am
@vandamage02 this is a year later but belt driven isn’t gonna rob u of power it will not do anything untill the clutch is energiesd
By mrmeanr, May 12, 2010 @ 9:50 am
York 210’s fill 40″ tires from 7-30psi in like 2min… 35’s in like 40seconds. 33’s, which most people would use them for, would be like 30 seconds, and it will still run air tools. You can try to match a 12V or even a 115V system to a York, and find the York to be a pretty nifty setup for the money.
