I am preparing to buy an air compressor. I was told that in order to use certain air tools, the CFM (cubic feet per minute) rating on the compressor needed to exceed the cfm or scfm rating of the air tool. Unfortunately, most of the 110v air compressors that I’ve looked at, up to 0, don’t have the cfm output volume that various air tools require (as stated on their packaging). I find it difficult to believe the that I would need to buy an industrial 220v 10hp air compressor to get enough cfm to drive, say a sand blaster.
Anybody know about this? Your help would defintely be appreciated.

Its a Campbell Hausfeld pro. 6hp 60 gallon 240v 125psi max 10-12 scfm …..for 5
Good deal huh?
3 Questions:
Dont really know how to properly use these big air compressors…
Can i just plug it in and start using it? or how much time should i wait?
can i use any kind of air tools? like the ones I used with my smaller 8 gallon air compressor?
If I end up not needing that big of an air compressor, how much can i resell it for because I am not to sure on their prices?

I want to be able to rotate my tires in my garage at home. There are plenty of air compressors available, but I am not sure what size compressor I should buy? Is 100 PSI enough to remove the lug nuts or should I go for more PSI?

Ok I am new to the whole deal with air compressors but I got one last night and it has a leak in the fitting where the hose connects. I would like to connect the compressor directly to a line that will run around my garage for easier access. What are my best options? I have seen something about NPT pipe, is that sold in lengths with thread already on it or just in lengths with no threads? Thanks

I want to get an air compressor mainly to remove the bolt on tires quickly among the many other uses it has. I need to know is there a certain pressure or size I should get? (As you can tell, I am kind of lost on the subject). Is there anything else that someone could inform me about on air compressors for the specific use I need it for? Any and all info is welcom and helpful. Thanks in advance.

It’s an off brand (doesn’t have any numbers or names on it) 5HP air compressor with an electric engine.
Now, what it’s doing is taking FOREVER to build up to 25 psi and it won’t build more pressure than that. I thought it was the check valve so I changed it and it’s still doing the same thing. Someone told me it could be the rings or the valve but I checked the rings and the piston. They all still look good and the guy I got it from said that it’s barely a year old and has only been used a few times. I don’t have any reason whatsoever to doubt him.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe it has something to do with the part of the air compressor that has the on/off switch and the pressure gauges. I don’t know though because I have almost zero experience with air compressors and electrical engines
The guy that gave it to me is a REALLY good friend of mine. It has no numbers but it’s not because he took them off of it. I am POSITIVE of that. I do know that it came from Tractor Supply.
