I Frankensteined a 3-1/2hp Briggs and Stratton lawnmower engine model 92502 into a Horizontal shaft engine for use on a go-kart. This was done about 7 years ago, the engine ran fine, we used it at least 10 hours, then took it off, and bolted a 5hp Briggs onto the go-kart. Then it had the power to do a burn out on dry pavement, as it used hand kart tires about 3 inches wide. A friend did the crankshaft machining, as well as the aluminum welding, he always does excellant work I made the new carb. holder, and modified the starter cover, and cut the hole in the bent plate, which another friend bend for me. It is nice to have friends!, and lots of spare engines to borrow parts from!
this is my weed eater engine converted to an air compressor. i am using a 1/2″ check valve, (2) 1/2″ to 1/4″ fitting, (1) male to male 1/4″ fitting, (1) 1/2″ female to female pvc fitting, (1) air compressor hose and a 7 gallon tank. i you have any questions on how to do this, send me a message.
This is an update on the progress of the Stirling Engine created from a standard air compressor. This hot air engine should finally get some power. The piston rings were removed as the machining of the pistons was very good. There is still good compression. The ring removal decreases friction dramatically and will allow for a good cycle. The Displacer is a Bikini Spray can that I got to fit perfectly. At the end is the ghost of Robert Stirling. Just kidding, think I have been working too hard.
