I bought a small Husky, 5 Gal. air compressor. My intended purpose was to use the blow-down nozzle, instead of spending the REDICULOUS ammounts of $ that they charge for compressed "air" (air/gas), in a can, which I use a lot of; for various electronic/(minor)automotive-component cleaning. After finding that condensate would form & spray from the nozzle (EXTREMELY undesirable[!]) after only a few min’s. o’ use, I returned to the home improvement store, and was advised that I needed an in-line filter– which I subsequently purchased. It’s a Husky "Mini General Purpose Filter"; with 1/4" screw-ports, & 64SCFM max flow cap. @ 90 PSI (if that helps you, any).
The instructions were pretty easy to understand except for the part about mounting it (presumably to a wall, or some other solid, vertical surface). The ONLY thing the instructions said was "Securely mount the filter in a vertical position as close as possible to the air tool connection" & that’s IT!
It didn’t come w/ any hardware but, there are four very small threaded holes drilled vertically into the metal part, between (just above) the plastic catch-bowl, and (just below) the inlet/outlet ports….. But, I don’t understand how you’d mount the filter using such tiny screws, in THAT configuration(???) My guess was that the holes were for some-sort o’ mounting-bracket but, neither of the major home improvement sotores had any such thing, and I can’t find anything online NOR can I get anyone to answer their toll free "support line"!
Its design is just-right so that I can’t safely zip-tie it, either (!) Any ideas?
the air compressor is on a 1941 aec matador for the air breaks after having problems with our air compressor (because the screw in the valve had worked lose and shattered the top of the piston to bits) we replaced it with a second hand one that we was lucky to find it seams to be working ok but the air pressure will not go up any more than 40 psi/lbs, the gauge pressure should rise until the governor "cuts out" at 90 lb. per sq. in. does anyone please have any knowledge about this kind of stuff? if so we would be very grateful thanks
would it be possible to make 1 good compresser out of the 2 ? and do you think this could help?
