120 Gallon Horizontal Compressed Air Tank Receiver ASME Coded Hydrotested
Note regarding volume of this tank: The listed volume is a calculation, not a direct measurement. Calculation is per the ellipsoidal tank equations provided in "Calculating Tank Volume" by Dan Jones. Dimensions of this tank (which are used in the calculation): Overall length: 63.25 inches.
Length of the ellipsoidal heads: 7 inches each. This horizontal tank has an ASME stamp on the tag, meaning it was built to stringent ASME standards unlike most of the junk out there these days. Tank has been tested to a hydrostatic pressure of 300PSI; 150% of its rated 200PSI with no leaks. This vessel has also been inspected with a ultrasonic thickness gauge; you are welcome to see a demonstration.
Tank is currently sitting on a rolling fixture which is included in the sale (if desired). It allows the tank to spin freely about the long axis. I was intending to polish the inside with tumbling media, then epoxy line it for use as a clean, dry air supply. Never got around to it and I need to thin the herd of projects laying around the shop. You can continue the project or just use it as it is.
