While this is a version before the clamp, it's the same as the more expensive one with an exception. The press that's currently available uses a manual hydro clamp to squeeze the plates together. It's works well, but there's still leaking to the catch plate, which is there for just that reason.
The leaking was an issue with the earlier version (this one) BUT, it was pointed out by one user that the leaking was almost entirely shut down by using two expensive iron workers clamps that each can exert more than 8000 pounds of clamping! We used it for several months, until there was a county crackdown and we decided to obey the ordinance. It's in great shape! Every part was carefully handled and cleaned after every use. It also comes with a pile of filters. From our experience, there was no sense in using all the filter plates, we used about 3/4 of them, since the last 1/4 weren't filtering enough to warrant wasting them.
